For the second time, Berlin is awarding prizes to entrepreneurs with a migration background operating in the city, which is also a federal state.
The prize Vielfalt unternimmt – Berlin würdigt migrantische Unternehmen, first awarded in 2019, gives public recognition to the achievements of minority entrepreneurs who are contributing greatly to the economic development of the city.
There are three prize categories, each with one prize winner:
Category A: Companies that have been in existence for at least five years and have more than 30 employees.
Category B: Companies that have been on the market for at least five years and have between 0 and 30 employees.
Category C: Founders’ Prize for companies that have been on the market for at least one year and less than five years
The award winners will each receive 10,000 euros and a trophy and they will be portrayed in a film about the prize.
Application period: 25 January to 22 March 2021, 11 p.m.
The recipients of the award are expected to be honoured at a ceremony planned for 19 May 2021 in Berlin’s City Hall.
