BANTU storms Germany on 5-city tour

The Nigerian-German band BANTU is touring Germany. The 5-city tour begins in Hagen on 18 July and will end in Cologne four days later. The other cities where the band will perform are Recklinghausen, Muelheim a.d. Ruhr and Bochum.

The shows, according to band founder and front man Adé Bantu, will feature the complete members of the group, promising “a few surprise guests”.

Adé (real name Ade Odukoya), a Nigerian-German musician, producer and social activist, is the creator of the monthly concert series and music Festival Afropolitan Vibes which holds in Lagos, Nigeria. He is also a founder of the Afro-German musical collective Brothers Keepers. BANTU received the Kora Award (the Pan-African equivalent of the Grammy) for their album “Fuji Satisfaction” in 2005.

For the past twenty years BANTU has been promoting their “Sound of Fufu”, a hybrid of HipHop, Afrobeat and Funk.

Because it has been a while since BANTU performed in Germany, Adé’s message to his band’s fans is, “Be sure to stop by, jump on stage if you want or just come party with us.”
