Global food and agriculture fair opens in Berlin

The International Green Week opens on Thursday (16 January) in Berlin. The exhibition, which is the world’s biggest fair for food, agriculture and horticulture, will run until 26 January.

In a total of 27 exhibition halls at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds, about 1,800 national and international exhibitors present typical regional products and services.

Among the African countries participating at the global show are Algeria, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Senegal, South Africa and Uganda. The countries will advertise their products at the fair and seek new international customers.

The ten-day event invites visitors to take a culinary tour of the world and discover new experiences.

Croatia is this year’s official partner country of the International Green Week Berlin, which has been holding since 1026, and it advertises its typical products and specialties at the fair.

The fair is open to the general public from 17 to 26 January, daily from 10am to 6pm, and from 10am to 8pm on ‘Long Friday’ (24 January).

A day ticket costs €15, children under the age of six are admitted free of charge. Reduced-rate tickets for students and pupils cost €10.
