With a wide-ranging programme including live concerts, dance performances, a fashion show, a bazaar and a street procession, Afrika Festival Potsdam/Brandenburg holds on 9-10 September in Potsdam.
Taking place at its traditional venue, at the popular Luisenplatz in the city centre, the festival will feature performances by, among other artists, Tomi Taiwo, Afropean Vibration, Prince Aladeogo, Asamoah, Miss Fee, Wandera and Papa G, who will dish out diverse African music ranging from traditional rhythms to modern pop.
With the motto Together instead of alone, diversity under one roof, the festival brings together Africans and Germans to promote intercultural understanding.
The festival, which holds from 4pm to 8pm on Friday and from 10am to 11pm on Saturday, affords visitors the opportunity to also sample African food and drinks and simply enjoy the Afro-festive atmosphere.
