Diamond Platnumz has arrived in Berlin to keep date with his fans on Saturday. East Africa’s king of pop breezed into town from New York City on Wednesday night.
Platnumz will perform at the prestigious Columbiahalle in Germany’s biggest city on Saturday, 7 September.
The concert, tagged #SIMBAinBERLIN, is taking place exactly a week after Nigeria’s superstar 2Baba Idibia, aka 2Face Idibia, thrilled a full house at the prestigious venue.
In East Africa there is an undisputed king of pop: Diamond Platnumz, whose real name is Nasib Abdul.

One of Africa’s richest musicians, he launched his own TV and radio station in 2018
Platnumz popularised “bongo flava”, Tanzanian hip-hop, and has performed to big crowds across the continent and in many parts of the world. Every month, it seems, the multi-award winning artist is putting out yet another hit full of plaintive lyrics and undeniable beats.
