Nigerian Diaspora Investment Summit 2019 holds in Abuja

The 2nd Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit (NDIS) takes place in Abuja on 6-7 November.

The two-day summit, themed “Leveraging Diaspora Resources for Economic Growth” and holding in the Banquet Hall of the State House, Aso Villa, provides a platform for Nigerians in the diaspora to invest in the economic development of their country.

Convened by Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) in collaboration with Nigeria Diaspora and Alumni Network (NIDAN), the Summit is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nigeria Investment Promotion Council, Nigeria Export Promotion Council, and Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission.

Among the keynote speakers expected at the 2-day conference are Prof Yemi Osinbajo, Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria; Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman of NiDCOM.

Others billed to address the event, expected to be attended by Nigerians from across the globe, are Godwin A. Oyefeso, Founder of Success Edge for Entrepreneurship Development (SEED); Dr John U. Osonwa, Climate Change, Environmental Law & Policy, and Renewable Energy expert; Chike Nweke, Co-Founder & Executive Director, Marketing at Hollywood Entertainment Production Inc.; and Ms. Yewande Sadiku, Chief Executive Officer, NIPC.

“The Summit intends to establish a platform where diaspora investors can interact with potential sponsors, partners, collaborators and the government and have direct round table deals for mutual benefits,” Dr Badewa Adejugbe-Williams,  Director, NiDAN and chief organiser of the Summit, said.

The target sectors of the Summit include agribusiness, education, training and skills development, entertainment, hospitality and tourism, extractive industries, healthcare, infrastructure and real estate, manufacturing, telecommunication, technology and innovations, transportation, waste management and environmental remediation.
