Building Bridges: Young Leaders Unite at the 9th China-Africa Youth Festival

60 young Africans across the Globe arrived in Beijing, China to attend the 9th edition of the
annual ‘China Africa Youth Festival.

The China-Africa Youth Festival is launched to implement important consensuses reached
between Chinese Presidents Xi Jinping and leaders of African countries at the 2015
Johannesburg Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), the aim is to
promote the exchanges between Chinese and African youths, consolidate traditional
friendship between China and Africa, and nurture future generations who will carry forward
the China-Africa friendship.

The week-long exchange visit will take participants to various historic sites, factories and
universities in the districts of Beijing and the Qinghai province between the 8th and 13th
September 2025. The China-Africa Youth Festival undertaken by the China Soong Ching
Ling Foundation (CSCLF) in collaboration with the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has
since its inception played important roles in deepening mutual understanding and friendship
between Chinese and African youths.

The Berlin-based Gambian journalist and activist Nyima Jadama is selected among this
year’s delegates shaping cultural narratives between the two continents. A television host and
media trainer describe the exchange visit as an experience worth exploring in her quest to
global views especially in culture and migration issues.

Nyima Jadama founded and hosted the Nyima’s Bantaba Talk Show and the ‘Unfiltered
Podcast’ on Alex Berlin Tv to create a safe space for the marginalized community whose
voices are mainly underrepresented in the German mainstream media
