MoneyGram to award outstanding immigrant entrepreneurs in Europe

The 1st European MoneyGram Awards to honour entrepreneurs with a migration background for supporting local economies and reinforcing integration in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK, will take place in Brussels on Thursday, 7 November 2019.

“The MoneyGram Awards 2019 honour the astonishing performance of entrepreneurs with migrant background who have established successful businesses in their new home countries. We reward the courage and the dedication that it took to implement new business ideas as we are grateful for the cultural diversity that these visionaries have added to our everyday life,” Michael Schütze, Head of Europe von MoneyGram, said.

Prizes will be distributed in the following categories:

– Innovation

– Profit Growth

– Social Responsibility

The prize for the European Foreign Entrepreneur of the year 2019 will be awarded to the entrepreneur who will be distinguished in all three categories. All companies will be nominated through an online voting system.

After an online voting session, an international jury will select a shortlist of nine entrepreneurs, three for each category in each country. The Award winners of each country will be invited to participate at the final Event & Gala Night in Brussels on Thursday, 7 November 2019. One of them will become the Immigrant Entrepreneur of the Year!

All participants in the European MoneyGram Awards can register online and have the opportunity to share their profile via social platforms such as Facebook and collect votes. A neutral jury will select national winners from all categories. Deadline for registration is 20 October 2019.

The MoneyGram Award was established in Italy in 2009, and it is the only national award that recognizes the excellence of companies run by foreign entrepreneurs. To make more than just a local award, it will also now be awarded at the European level for the first time.
