Alison Kabuya wins Cantu Curl Awards Germany with ‘supernatural fantasy look’

Last Friday, dreams came true for 25-year-old student Alison Kabuya from Frankfurt when she was chosen as the new CANTU Ambassador 2022 at the CANTU CURL AWARDS 2021 in Germany.

Her supernatural fantasy look “Black Midas”, inspired by Greek mythology and styled on a male model, not only won the public votes but also inspired the expert jury.

The lucky winner received a prize money of €5,000, an exclusive one-year-ambassador contract (including a video and photo shoot), free CANTU hair care products and lots of goodies.

The second and third place winners – Yolande Bone from Cologne and Rawan Elhag Sir Elkhatim from Nuremberg – won €1,000 and €500 respectively, free Cantu products and of course lots of goodies too.

Hair styling with a message

The award show, held in Germany for the first time, was hosted by none other than Toni Dreher-Adenuga, the winner of Germany’s Next Top Model 2018. Broadcast live from za:media’s loft in Mannheim, she confidently presented the event on a stage decorated in CANTU colours. Starting with a video message from CANTU’s European Brand Manager Precilia Zongo and a warm welcome from the expert jury, the entries from all 8 finalists were introduced.

Even though there was some criticism from the jury, all entries showed great and original looks receiving a lot of compliments from Toni as well as the jury. In the end, however, there could only be one winner – speechless with happiness Alison Kabuya gratefully accepted her new role as the official Cantu Ambassador 2022.

And who knows, maybe her new responsibilities as brand ambassador and triumph at the awards is the start of a successful career in the hair styling industry.
