Africans in Switzerland to gather for year-end celebration in Bern

The African Diaspora Council of Switzerland (ADCS) is gearing up to host a major cultural and community gathering as it celebrates International Migrants Day alongside its End-of-Year Party on 20 December 2025 in Bern-Ostermundigen. The event, which begins at 4:00 pm at the Tell Kulturzentrum (Bernstrasse 101, 3072 Ostermundigen/Bern), is open to all members of the migrant and diaspora communities, diplomatic missions, and the Swiss host society.

The ADCS — a network committed to empowering Africans living in Switzerland — has, over the years, established itself as a visible platform for community cohesion, cultural expression and intercultural dialogue. Its International Migrants Day commemorations have become a highlight of the diaspora calendar, bringing together people from diverse backgrounds for an evening of music, food, dance, dialogue and shared celebration.

Past editions of the event have featured traditional and contemporary African performances, migrant-led entrepreneurship showcases, panel discussions and networking sessions that connect participants across social, cultural and professional spheres. This year’s programme, available through the ADCS website, continues that tradition by emphasising community solidarity, cultural pride and mutual support between migrants and their Swiss neighbours.

As Switzerland’s African community continues to grow and diversify, initiatives like those of the ADCS play an essential role in strengthening integration while safeguarding cultural heritage. The December gathering offers an opportunity for long-standing residents, new arrivals and friends of the African community to connect, reflect and celebrate the end of the year together.
