Black people ride bicycle against racism in Berlin

A bicycle demonstration to fight for better representation and recognition of the existence of Black people as a relevant part of German society will take place on 26 June in Berlin.

Along Berlin’s main landmarks, the organisers Zewdi wants to mobilize the Black community together for a bicycle demonstration to create visibility of people of African descent in public spaces in Germany.

The bicycle demonstration along the route from the Brandenburg Gate to Tempelhofer Feld is meant to collectively remind society that the Black community will not let everyday racism take away their joy in life. This should be enabled with a sense of freedom and security for one day, and to show that Berlin can be a welcoming place for black people.

The Black community is part of society and will remain so forever.
