Ambassador Tuggar charges new NIDO Germany’s leadership

Nigeria’s ambassador to Germany, HE Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, has called on the executive committee of the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation Germany (NIDOG) to discharge its duties “in good faith and continue the good work of championing the welfare and interests of Nigerians in Germany”.

The ambassador made the call in a congratulatory message he sent to the President of NIDOG, Femi Awoniyi, on the executive committee’s recent election.

“I congratulate you on behalf of the Officers and Staff of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on your election as President of the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation Germany.

“Your election to the position is no doubt an indication of the confidence and trust reposed in you by members of the Nigerian community in Germany,” the letter reads.

Ambassador Tuggar assures that the Embassy remained committed to working with NIDOG in the pursuit of the welfare of Nigerians in Germany.

In a similar message, the ambassador praised the immediate past President of the organisation, Dr RosaLyn Dressman, on the successful completion of her tenure.

“I acknowledge that under your able leadership, the organisation was able to achieve much despite its laudable initiatives being eclipsed by the COVID-19 pandemic which affected the activities of many organisations worldwide,” Ambassador Tuggar added in the letter addressed to Ms Dressman.

“While wishing you success in your future endeavours, I would like to enjoin you to carry on the spirit of selfless service and dedication that you demonstrated as President of NIDOG,” the letter said.

NIDOG held its annual general meeting on 26 June at which a new executive committee was elected to run the affairs of the organisation for the next two years.
