The day that commemorates the founding of the Organisation of African Unity (now African Union) in Addis Ababa on 25 May 1963, will be marked this year for the 10th consecutive time in the western German city of Dortmund.
The African Unity 2019 conference, taking place on 24-25 May and organised by the non-governmental organization AfricanTide Union e.V., will bring together representatives of African Diaspora communities, communal politicians, ambassadors, entrepreneurs and artists.
The theme of this year’s congress is “Strengthening African Development – The New UN Agenda 2063”.
The 2-day conference will, among others, holistically focus on the development of Africa’s Diaspora, spanning issues such as education, good governance, investment and labour market integration in Africa.
The event will feature exciting presentations, workshops, panel discussions and cultural events, contributing to a diverse and positive image of the African continent.
African Union Day Business Dinner, taking place on the second day of the conference, will offer opportunities for prospective business partners to meet and network. Among the cultural events to round up the conference is a fashion show by Soli Production Management.
Since 2011, AfricanTide Union annually marks the African Unity Day with a conference that have been attended by more hundreds of international participants and experts from politics, diplomacy, business, science and Diaspora to work together on innovative topics, exchange ideas and find new cooperation and network partners.
