The daughter of philanthropists Bill and Melinda Gates is set to marry Egyptian equestrian Nayel Nassar.
Jennifer Gates has announced their engagement on her Instagram account.
Gates and Nassar who have been dating since 2017, are both riders of the Paris Panthers, a horse stable belonging to the billionaire’s daughter.
“Nayel Nassar, you are one of a kind. Absolutely swept me off my feet this past weekend, surprising me in the most meaningful location over one of our many shared passions,” Gates, whose father is founder of Microsoft and the world’s richest man, posted.
“I can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives learning, growing, laughing and loving together. Yes a million times over.”
Responding, Nassar posted: “I’m feeling like the luckiest (and happiest) man in the world right about now. Jenn, you are everything I could have possibly imagined..and so much more. I can’t wait to keep growing together through this journey called life, and I simply can’t imagine mine without you anymore. Love you more than you can possibly imagine, and thank you for making every single day feel like a dream to me. Here’s to forever!”
The 24-year-old Gates is studying to be a medical doctor while the 26-year-old professional jockey is a millionaire himself.
According to the Federation Equestre Internationale, Nassar rode his way to victory in the fourth-annual Zoetis $1 million Grand Prix at HITS Saugerties in 2013. His most recent wins include another prize of $216,000 which he and golden horse Lordan earned at the Longines FEI World Cup Jumping Wellington at the CP Palm Beach Masters in February this year.
Nayel also had a wealthy upbringing. His parents run an architecture and interior design firm in Kuwait and bought him his first horse at a tender age of 10.
The news of the engagement has been trending on social media.
