THE AFRICAN COURIER. Reporting Africa and its Diaspora! The African Courier is an international magazine published in Germany to report on Africa and the Diaspora African experience. The first issue of the bimonthly magazine appeared on the newsstands on 15 February 1998. The African Courier is a communication forum for European-African political, economic and cultural exchanges, and a voice for Africa in Europe.
The Championship of African Nations (CHAN) tournament kicks off on Saturday January 13 in Morocco.
The CHAN is a version of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) but one that is reserved for players who ply their trade in Africa.
The biennial competition is scheduled to take place between January 13 to February 4, 2018 across four Moroccan cities of Casablanca, Marrakech, Tangiers and Agadir.
This is the fifth edition of the tournament. It was originally supposed to be held in Kenya but lack of preparations forced the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to transfer the rights to Morocco.
Sixteen teams have been pooled into four groups to be based in four cities. Casablanca, Tangier, Marrakech and Agadir. The reigning champions, DR Congo, will not be at the tournament. The last edition in 2016 was held in Rwanda.
The Confederation of African Football has confirmed the introduction of Video Assistant Referee [VAR] in Morocco.

Group B (Marrakech): Cote d’Ivoire, Zambia, Uganda, Namibia
Group C (Tangier): Libya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Equatorial Guinea
